What My Pupils Say...
'Mike is a versatile, patient guitar tutor, he can teach many styles ranging from classical, rock, funk or jazz, he has also helped me with my college and university music courses. I have had help with music theory, ear training, techniques, and other sides of music like business. so I would recommend Mike if anyone is looking to further their career in music or achieve their musical goals.'
Mark - Wigan
'I thoroughly enjoy my teaching sessions with Mike and look forward to our regular meetings. Mike is a talented teacher, good company and enthusiastic about music, meaning learning to play guitar has been a very pleasurable experience. If you're looking to learn/improve your guitar skills, I would strongly recommend.'
Varinder - Manchester

'Mike has been teaching my 9 year old daughter since August and she loves it. Right from the start Mike put her at ease with his teaching style and she is not afraid to ask questions or say when she needs him to cover something again. She has lessons as part of a group at school but much prefers the attention she gets in her one to one lessons with Mike at home.'
Emma - Westhoughton
'I have been having lessons with Mike for over a year. I have nothing but praise
for him as he has really helped me to improve and learn new techniques and has rekindled my passion for the guitar. He is also reliable and easy to get along with. He is highly recommended.'
Joe - Walkden
'I have had Mike teaching me guitar for around 5 years now on and off. He is a great teacher but has also become a great friend. His teaching is very flexible and he can cover anything you could think of. Mike also points you in the right direction but never forces you, an example is when I was younger all I wanted to play was Oasis songs, he would come each week and show me them but would also show me how they created the songs and how I could do the same, he would always hint at me doing the theory side but never forced me which kept me interested in playing the guitar. As I later evolved on the guitar, I have become interested in the theory side
of music; none of this would have happened if he didn’t keep me interested which I am very thankful for.
As I was learning music at gcse level, he would always help me out with anything I was struggling with as he is not just a guitar teacher, he is a music teacher. I would show him the work and he would talk me through it until I understood. I passed my gcse exam and got top marks for all of my practical exams. I am now studying Music as a Btec at college and will be hoping to pass with a distinction later next year. I have also started teaching guitar to a few students of my own to earn a little money and to gain experience which he also helps me with and offers me tips. He is very experienced in his trade and I have honestly never seen a more talented musician.'
Chris - Horwich
'Mike has been my son’s guitar teacher for 4 years and not only has he developed my sons ability considerably he has been such a excellent motivator my son is now sailing through GSCE music. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone of any age or ability as he is patient and talented with so much experience he loves to share.'
Barbara - Radcliffe
'Dear Mike, Thankyou for your help over the last years teaching me how to fully understand how to play guitar and use it in a knowledgable way to make my playing tasteful and sound great. I'm looking forward to meeting new musicians in Sheffield and using what you have taught me to make great songs and great guitar. Thanks Again.'
Jamie - Bolton
'On retirement I decided I needed a new challenge, something totally different from my previous employment. I decided to take up classical guitar. I approached Mike because he was able to provide lessons in my own home.
This is my fourth year of taking lessons with Mike. During this time I have learnt a great deal and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Mike is very patient, understanding of physical limitations and thinks of ways to overcome them, in my case arthritis. He sets musical challenges which have enabled me to acquire new levels of competence without being discouraged.
An excellent guitarist himself his enthusiasm and commitment motivates me to continue with my studies. I highly recommend Mike as a guitar teacher whether you are a beginner or an improver.'
